Just yards from Loch Sunart, in the peaceful village of Glenborrodale, Honeysuckle Cottage is a very well equipped and comfortable holiday cottage.

Located appoximately halfway along the Ardnamurchan peninsula, the detached cottage is just a stone's throw from Loch Sunart and offers wonderful views out across the water. With a few other properties nearby, the property is private and has the best views. The house has stripped wooden floors throughout, covered with rugs, and the kitchen and utility areas are tiled with a traditional quarry tiled floor. It is well furnished, comfortable and cosy with particular emphasis on being a home-from-home. WIFI Internet access.

Living Room

With an open fire and large picture window looking out over the garden, you can snuggle up and relax in this cosy room. The TV has all terrestrial channels plus basic Sky TV and there are DVD and video players with a film library. Board games, books and playing cards are available and there's a toy box filled to keep our younger visitors amused.

Dining Room

With French windows providing wonderful views down the garden to Loch Sunart and the hills beyond. Why not dine by candlelight at the large wooden dining table, throw a log on the wood-burning stove and a CD on the CD player and just sit and stare at the scenery?

Kitchen

A light and airy room with four windows and quarry-tiled floor. It's fitted with floor units, breakfast bar with 3 stools and two Butler sinks. The electric range-style cooker has a 6 ring gas hob and there are all the appliances you'd expect nowadays - fridge, microwave and dishwasher, etc.

Downstairs WC

Washer dryer plus a separate tumble dryer should you need it.

Master Bedroom

With double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, leather armchairs, and beautifully tiled fireplace, radio/CD player. Views are across the native rhododendrons and shrubs filling the garden to the loch and hills beyond.

A twin-bedded room with wardrobe and fireplace. Garden and loch view.

Bedroom 3

A twin-bedded room with wash hand basin. Double aspect views to rear garden.

Bathroom

Full white suite and separate shower cubicle with wonderfully large shower head.

Garden and Outside

The garden is mainly lawned with flower beds and is undulating with stone steps. It's fully enclosed and there is dining furniture (table, chairs with cushions) plus a parasol and a charcoal BBQ for al fresco dining during the warmer months.

General Info

The cottage has a Playstation 2 with a selection of games; board games, playing cards and books plus a travel cot with bed linen and a highchair should you require them.

Mountaineering and Hill Climbing

Ardnamurchan is a much neglected area for mountaineers and hill climbers but there are five summits here over 1000 feet which, as you can imagine, provide a magnificient viewing platform to take in the surrounding rugged land and seascapes.  Ardnamurchan contains perfect rock in wild and remote settings.

Just over an hour away, Lochaber contains the biggest and best crags in the Uk offering a huge variety of climbing.  Ben Nevis is home to some of the country's longest rock climbs of all standards but also offers winter climbing of international importance, including:-

  • Glen Nevis, one of the best roadside rock climbing venues
  • Glen Coe, containing the highest standard mountain routes
