THE JACOBITE EXPRESS

A wonderful day trip is the journey on the world famous train used as the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films. The 84 mile round trip starts in Fort William and heads north to Mallaig taking in wonderful scenery - beginning near Ben Nevis (Britain's highest mountain) it visits Britain's most westerly mainland railway station then passes close to the deepest freshwater loch in Britain (Loch Morar), the shortest river in Britain (River Morar and the deepest sea loch in Europe (Loch Nevis).

The train runs daily from May - October, leaving Fort William around 10:00am and returning at 4:00pm with a 1.5 hour stay in Mallaig.
